The Beijing headquartered Xiaomi Inc is now the 5th largest smartphone maker. Designing, developing mobile phones and now smart home devices as well, this Chinese company has created ripples in the mobile market every time it launched a new phone since 2011. In 2015, the fans expected Mi5 to unveil but Xiaomi missed the date and now the company has launched in April 2016.
The rumors and speculations that surround smartphone are sufficient to give the market a general perspective about the product. The leaks by Chinese social networking site Weibo and website GizmoChina has tipped about the specifications and features of Mi5.
The new Xiamoi Mi5 is a 5.2 inch phone with full metal body. It as Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 2.5D edges and 2K LCD display. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the upgrades will be provided to the users. Powered by either 3GB or 4GB RAM it will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 while some sites suggest the 820 chipset. Coming on to the memory of the device it’s is said to come in variants of 16 / 32 / 64 GB along with expandable storage.

With Mi5, the company is going to further raise the camera quality compared to Mi4. The rear camera of this amazing smartphone is 16 MP. Dual LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization, face detection and auto focus are also to be incorporated as features in the camera. The front camera is equipped with 4MP. The phone will definitely make you put your compact digital camera in the drawer and grab your Mi 5 to capture those special moments.
Going by the specification published at various tech sites the battery power is somewhere close to 3000mAh, providing enough for all kind of usage on the device. The rumors point out that the battery will get fully recharged within 40 minutes.

The news surrounding Mi5 give the hint that the phone features finger print sensor. Will this be like Letv Le Max Pro based on Sense ID 3D fingerprint of Qualcomm. The latest reports also suggest that Mi5 will offer 3-D Touch Display similar yet better than iPhone 6s. This new feature is claimed to be developed by Synaptics jointly with Xiaomi.
The Mi5 is priced in the range of $ 375 to $ 400 range, as most of the sites suggest. When will these devices hit the shelves and reach the hands of the consumers is yet to be seen but the recent activities and gossips building up around Mi5 suggest that the launch will happen pretty soon.
Xiaomi has since 2011, not only managed to garner a good share of the global smartphone market but also provided features and specs at a relatively reasonable price. Some argue that in some aspects it tries to mimic Apple phones but this actually sounds like a compliment.
